The Clinical Systems Analyst will effectively manage, optimize, and support the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, along with a range of clinical systems. This position focuses on analyzing, enhancing, and providing support for the EHR and application systems, with a specific emphasis on ordering and documentation, charting, and clinical workflows. The primary objective is to improve operational efficiency, streamline clinical processes, and ensure seamless functioning of departments utilizing these systems.

Hours: Monday to Friday between 7:00am-5:00pm. Some occasional evening or weekend shifts based on projects and system implementation. Available for on-call support/rotation. Remote with occasional in-office meetings or projects and travel within the metro area. The selected candidate must reside within MN or WI and must be open to relocating to these areas if selected for the opportunity.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $84,156/annually to $126,235/annually, with a median salary of $105,196/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • System Implementation and Support:
    • Customize and configure the Oracle Health Millennium module to meet the organization’s specific requirements, including ordering and documentation.
    • Provide expert guidance and support to end users, ensuring the effective utilization of the EHR and clinical applications.
    • Troubleshoot system issues, investigate user-reported problems, and deliver timely resolutions.
    • Provide remote and in-person support to end-users, investigate and resolve incoming tickets, and collaborate with IS teams and vendors to address technical issues and coordinate system maintenance.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Collaborate with other Enterprise Systems teams and vendors to address technical issues, coordinate system maintenance activities, project and sprints, and manage backlogged enhancements.
    • Actively participate in meetings and presentations, both internally and with various departments, to provide status updates and gather requirements.
    • Participate in meetings, presentations, and implementation activities, serving as a liaison between users and/or vendors.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement within technical systems and recommend enhancement processes.
    • Engage in collaborative decision-making with clinical areas, using evidence-based approaches for system changes.
    • Participate in change management processes, sprint reviews, and portfolio management.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to address technical issues and coordinate system maintenance activities.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of system evaluations, workflow designs, process improvements, and system enhancements.
    • Adhere to regulatory requirements and best practices in documenting system configurations, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Client Support and Communication:
    • Escalate and resolve client concerns in a timely manner, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Communicate effectively with end users and stakeholders, providing clear instructions and support related to the clinical systems.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Business Administration, Information Technology, or 4 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience with clinical information systems.
  • Proficiency in system implementation, support, and maintenance within a clinical environment.
  • Experience with documentation and version control of system configurations, user guides, and standard operating procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong clinical background in healthcare IT, clinical system implementation, and end-user support.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare IS standards and regulations such as HIPAA, Meaningful Use, and CMS regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.

Preferred

  • MBA, MHA or related master’s degree.
  • Experience with solution-based thinking and relating to business specific needs.
  • Familiarity of Oracle Health CCL (Cerner Command Language) (modified SQL) for queries, work queues, and Millennium Reporting tools.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Have a basic understanding of HL7 and API transactions related to system integration.
  • Certification(s) in Oracle Health Millennium solutions.
