- Must hold a current, unrestricted Virginia license or a multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse
- Baccalaureate degree preferably of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must have two years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse prior to employment as instructor.
- Excellent organizational skills and classroom/online management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex subjects in a clear and engaging way.
- Ability to work with adult learners of varying ages, and skills level.
- Ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter and innovative thinker.
- Experience teaching hybrid training courses
- Previous experience in the community college setting
- Previous experience with CANVAS LMS system
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Experience in curriculum design and development.
- Nurse Aide Train-the-trainer Certification in the last 2 years
