         We are seeking an experienced doula who is passionate about educating and guiding our members throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey.

The Doula Will Support Two Programs

   

  • Black Health Communities:

Doula to provide stand-alone prenatal and postpartum support, alongside benefits navigation and support from dedicated care coordinators.

   

  • Care and Case Management:

Doula will collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team and contribute to cohesive care plans by providing longitudinal support and education during pregnancy and through postpartum.

The support and education provided is intended to improve outcomes for all members. This role involves ongoing strategic input and innovation to regularly evaluate how we best serve our members and impact outcomes. Both programs are committed to raising the standard of healthcare for all pregnant people.

Schedule: M-F 9am-6pm PST

Responsibilities

   

  • Develop and implement a structured doula workflow to deliver culturally-representative prenatal and postpartum support and education via phone and messaging
  • Support members and their chosen model of prenatal care and delivery plan (ex: OBGYN, CNM, Group Prenatal Care/Centering, Hospital delivery, Birth Center delivery, etc.)
  • Guide members in birth planning discussions by providing education as well as assisting with formulation of advocacy questions to guide conversations with their prenatal care team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care

Required Qualifications

   

  • Certification as a birth doula from one of the following: DONA International, Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), Childbirth International (CBI), or the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA)
  • 5+ years of experience working as a doula
  • Experience solving problems for, and advocating on behalf of, members of the Black community
  • Passionate about advocating for the Black community
  • Comfortable with technology, as well as strong competence and ability to use multiple computer/medical record systems.
  • Easily able to build relationships with members via audio-only/telephonic communication.
  • Must be able to work efficiently. We are a fast growing company and we are busy. Our team is expected to meet volume goals without sacrificing quality. Good judgment for balancing priorities is a must.
  • Be flexible and comfortable with working in a rapidly-changing environment.
  • Strictly follow security and HIPAA regulations to protect our patients’ medical information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A self-starter who likes to take ownership of your work and you proactively go the extra mile for others.
  • Ability to work M-F 9am-6pm Pacific Time.

Preferred Qualifications

   

  • Additional certification as a postpartum doula from DONA International, CAPPA, CBI, or ICEA
  • Experience developing and instituting a doula initiative within a healthcare setting
  • Background or additional certification in lactation support and education
  • Experience working remotely
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Registered Nurse

Physical/Cognitive Requirements

   

  • Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.
  • Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs. of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.
  • Ability to interact with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.

The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are: Zone A: $22.84 – $29.69 per hour + equity + benefits Zone B: $26.27 – $34.15 per hour + equity + benefits Zone C: $28.55 – $37.12 per hour + equity + benefits Zone D: $29.69 – $38.60 per hour + equity + benefits This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates.
