This job announcement will be used to hire multiple OPS Licensed Practical Nurse positions.
This position provides quality customer services on behalf of Florida Department of Health and Children’s Medical Services with any needs that come through the CMS Toll-Free Line. This position is responsible for processing of referrals and attestations, ensuring appropriate documentation of activities and quality assurance reviews.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Conducts clinical reviews for clinical eligibility screening services for enrolled or potential enrolled children for the CMS Managed Care Plan and Florida Kid Care Title XXI.
- Evaluates the health status of the patient through parent-based screening or attestation with the client and family.
- Explains and interprets the client’s special needs as reported by parent/caregiver. Provides supportive counseling,
- teaching and guidance to client and family.
- Provides clinical education and quality improvement activities to ensure needs of child and family are met.
- Documents in accordance with established guidelines while using the current electronic medical record program.
- Provides resources for other state and local health related agencies to maximize support to client parents/guardian.
- Serves as a community resource professional in the specialized medical field of pediatrics.
- Provides information concerning availability of pediatric treatment, programs, and facilities, interprets CMS policies and procedures, promotes community awareness and understanding of the CMS Network.
- Attends meetings and conferences directly related to roles and responsibilities.
- Meets the continuing education requirements mandated by the Florida Board of Nursing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of organizational procedures, policies, practices, rules, and regulations
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to express facts and ideas in a succinct and organized manner and make clear and convincing oral presentations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Knowledge in medical terminology
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software
- Thorough knowledge of modern office business equipment, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of organizational procedures, policies, practices, rules and regulations
- Great Interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Knowledge of computer software including applications
- Must be an active listener and ask question as appropriate
Qualifications:
- Active Licensure as a Practical Nurse
- Years of Experience:1-3years clinical eligibility screening, and/or call center preferred.
