Summary of Position
The Expert Physician Advocate plays a crucial role within the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of expert medical recommendations to Teladoc Health members. The Expert Physician Advocate role is accountable for maintaining the clinical quality of documents sent to the expert community, recruiting expert physicians, engaging with experts regularly, researching the best expert based on case data, and soliciting their expertise. Additionally, the Expert Physician Advocate attributes to the business OKR of achieving the highest levels of satisfaction among both members and experts across the United States
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Case Management Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate on specialist selection using Teladoc’s database.
  • Review cases daily for timely expert deliverables.
  • Ensure quality and thorough documentation of deliverables and case documentation.
  • Escalate case and quality concerns to leadership.
  • Facilitate case movement through the expert stage.
  • Maintain system accuracy for expert information.
Physician-Related Responsibilities :
  • Identify, research, engage, and onboard new experts.
  • Manage expert relationships and maintain documentation.
  • Ensure timely support for expert inquiries.
  • Manage expert relationships and communications; support maintenance of physician contracts, W9, and other relevant documentation or research.
  • Support physicians contributing to US and global expert medical opinion cases, including providing case management system support.
  • Deliver feedback to experts regarding performance levels and quality.
  • Support additional projects as needed
The time spent on each responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change dependent on business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Nurse License (R.N.)
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in the acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN Preferred
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and non-verbal channels; telephone, email, and chat
  • Exemplifies professional interpersonal skills with physicians and colleagues in varying global geographies
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong critical and clinical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Med-surg background preferred
  • Bilingual-Spanish Speaking a plus
  • Proficiency using technology and software
  • Able to work a flexible schedule with infrequent evening or weekend commitments as needed
The base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here:
