What You’ll Do
The Case Management Nurse works in conjunction with other team members and departments to ensure appropriate levels of care in order to meet company, broker, policyholder, and patient goals. This position requires an ability to utilize clinical expertise, knowledge of the medical community, and nursing processes to assist with the recovery from work-related injuries and ensuring a successful return to work plan for policyholders’ employees. This is a fully remote position.
- Be a clinical resource for claims adjusters by answering questions related to the diagnosis, treatment, pharmacology, and rehabilitation of injured workers.
- Assess the medical needs of injured workers that experience complex occupational injuries.
- Work with injured workers, care providers, and claim adjusters to facilitate treatment plans and coordinate care, ensuring a safe and appropriate return to gainful employment.
- Develop treatments and rehabilitation plans for injured workers who are “at risk” for refractory recovery.
- Advocate for injured workers by assisting with the navigation of the workers’ compensation system.
- Assist injured workers to gain access to appropriate care providers.
- Ensure that all appropriate record-keeping is performed on a timely basis and that all governing agency regulations are met.
- Keep current with related trends in the care management industry and maintain licenses by completing the continuing education requirements.
We’re looking for someone that has:
- a degree from an accredited nursing school, preferably a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree,
- a minimum of 5 years of clinical nurse experience in an acute care hospital,
- a current unrestricted Massachusetts Registered Nurse (R.N.) license and other assigned states as required by law,
- case management certification and previous insurance nurse case management, orthopedic, critical care, emergency room or rehabilitation care experience,
- a familiarity with workers’ compensation insurance, including regulatory and utilization,
- strong knowledge of regional occupational health and medical specialist communities,
- strong verbal and written communication skills and is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and
- the ability to work independently to organize and prioritize work.
Bi-lingual abilities are a plus.

Pay Philosophy
The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors; including, but not limited to – qualifications, relevant education, certifications, experience, skills, performance, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future, but we in good faith believe this is what we would pay for this role as of the time of posting. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market for all employees in this position across our industry and provides an opportunity to progress and develop within the role.
