Texas Oncology is looking for a Remote Precision Medicine Integration Specialist to join our team! This is a fully remote position based out of Texas. This position may be requested to visit the local clinics from time to time. It is strongly preferred that candidates live in Central Texas (i.e. San Antonio, Austin and surrounding areas) . This position supports Central and Site research operations and acts as a liason between the sites, central team and organizations related to and other TxO research trials. Attendance to off-site meetings may be required as necessary.

What does the Precision Medicine Reference Lab Liaison do?
This Precision Medicine Reference Lab Liaison will be responsible for establishing and maintaining test nomenclature, reference laboratory testing processes, respond to reference laboratory requests for medical necessity information needed for prior authorization, billing and appeals, and other duties related to collaboration with our reference laboratory partners. The PM Reference Lab Liaison will also be a point of contact for the laboratory and clinical staff for inquiries regarding test options for different reference laboratories and can advise on similarities and differences for the different options. The PM Reference Lab Liaison will, along with the laboratory managers, work with outside vendors on test menu, patient billing practices, etc.
Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day reference laboratory testing processes
- Responds to reference laboratory requests for medical necessity information needed for prior authorization
- Responsible for other duties related to collaboration with our reference laboratory partners.
- A point of contact for the laboratory and clinical staff for inquiries regarding issues with testing
- Advise on similarities and differences for the different options for possible testing solutions.
- Report to Supervisor, Precision Medicine Lab Liaisons
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in science/healthcare, Medical Technologist, or BSN Registered Nurse (RN)
- At least three (3) years of experience working in a clinic/physician practice or hospital environment or laboratory strongly preferred.
- Candidate should also be familiar with working in a clinic/physician practice environment with some experience with their EMR,
billing and test ordering processes - Familiarity with various tests related to precision medicine preferred
- Must have excellent organizational skills with a proven history of being able to handle multiple competing priorities at a fast
pace with high quality
Candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills
