Position in this function is under direction of the Manager Informatics, Business and Systems Analysis, the Clinical Nurse Informaticist works to optimize the continuous adoption and utilization of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related clinical applications through analysis/interpretation of data and workflow actualization, on-going informatics education and training, achievement of quality and safety outcomes, and providing support to the IT/EHR Committee in accordance with organizational goals. The Clinical Nurse Informaticist possesses an in-depth knowledge of health care practices (acute and ambulatory), interdisciplinary organizational aims, and ultimately an encompassing view of the relationship between technology, people, processes and efficient workflows.
Hybrid within area close to Eugene, OR. Must be in office 3 days per week.
If you are located in/close to Eugene, OR, you will have the flexibility to work remotely*, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges. Must be in office 3 days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partners with the Medical Director of IT/EMR and Manager Informatics, Business and Systems Analysis to develop outcome-oriented work plans and manage project activities and deliverables
- Partners with the Medical Director of IT/EMR, Physician Informaticists, and Manager Informatics, Business and Systems Analysis to effectively incorporate health information technology in workflows that impact clinical and non-clinical users
- Acts as a change agent in the pursuit of quality patient care and standardized professional practice through the identification, development, planning, implementation, and value measurement of informatics strategies
- Leverages health information technology to support the prevention of medical errors and adverse events
- Collaborates with leadership in project/program planning and development that supports department and organizational initiatives
- Promotes safe, effective, and efficient use of health IT
- Provides technical consultation and support to leadership regarding project activities
- Continuously supports the voices and experiences of the customer (patients, families and staff) to drive improvement, service and innovation
- Establishes effective working relationships with senior management, directors, managers, patients, providers, and staff in clinical, administrative and support departments
- Ensures consistent adherence to Optum Medical Group’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
- Participates in local, regional and national Informatics committees within Optum
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required or an equivalent amount of experience within healthcare
- Current Oregon RN license
- 3+ years of medical care delivery system experience, preferably in a clinic setting
- EMR experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPIC experience
- Experience in an Informatics role
