We are a premier organization in the senior housing industry and is currently searching for a Wellness Specialist to join the team. The ideal candidate must reside in the southeast region near a major airport and be available for frequent travel. A heart for working with seniors and their loved ones is a must, and a tenacious leadership style will produce the best results!

In this role, you will:

  • Function as Interim Wellness Director for multi-state communities, including overseeing interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Train newly hired Wellness Directors or wellness leadership staff.
  • Conduct regular quality enhancement visits for assigned communities to ensure compliance with both state and company policies.
  • Complete nursing assessments, auxiliary evaluations of residents, and other evaluations addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Establish and maintain quality of care systems to ensure residents receive care as outlined on individual resident service plans.
  • Assist and partner with the Regional Vice President, Executive Directors, and Health & Well-Being Directors to assist with implementation and maintain Vitality’s programs.
  • Participate and lead in the development of resident services programming, monitor program implementation and success throughout the communities.
  • Participate in the implementation of protocols and policies to ensure compliance with multi-state regulations, Vitality’s Policies and Procedures, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate expertise in company electronic health record and EMAR platforms.
  • Work closely with the VP of Engagement & Innovation in selecting the appropriate instructional procedures or methods.
  • Conduct continuing education and training for Nurses/Medication Techs/Personal Care Specialists as necessary on all shifts.
  • Provide written summaries of community visits that include action items, timeline, and the responsible leader to ensure ongoing communication and accountability.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing & current CPR certification.
  • Maintain any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Assisted Living and/or Memory Care leadership required.
  • Demonstrate ability to professionally and compassionately communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of the organization.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Project a positive and professional image at all times.
  • Must be able to travel – up to 80 percent.
