Summary of Job Duties:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides telephonic triage and patient care coordination using clinical decision-making software and videoconferencing equipment to support telemedicine operations. The RN assists with patient consults and transports, ensuring timely communication and safe care transitions. This position practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to all institutional policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma PLUS one (1) year of registered nursing experience

  • Valid RN license (State of Arkansas)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Basic computer skills with ability to learn new systems

  • Demonstrated work ethic, accountability, and professionalismtional policies, procedures and standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing PLUS five (5) years of RN experience, preferably in Critical Care, Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, or High-Risk Antepartum.

  • Experience in phone triage, hospital transfers, case coordination, and telehealth/telemedicine services

  • Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform telephonic patient triage using clinical protocols and decision-support software.

  • Assist with patient consults, transfers, and transport coordination.

  • Operate videoconferencing equipment to facilitate telemedicine consults.

  • Document patient assessments, triage decisions, and care coordination accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

  • Recognize and escalate urgent/emergent situations promptly to the appropriate provider or team.

  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and institutional standards.

  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and quality improvement activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or leadership.
