This position qualifies for a $2000 sign on bonus with half being paid with first check and half after 6 months of employment.

Clatsop Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a full time time Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The primary purpose of the Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is to as the medical provider for individuals who are deemed appropriate for psychotropic medications. Provider will obtain appropriate preliminary laboratory and/or other medical testing, prescribe medications, order, and review blood levels when appropriate, and monitor drug efficacy in consumers. This position will remain apprised of current research and literature and best practices and will consult with identified medical professionals or mentors, as needed, on complex client situations. This position can be either on-site, hybrid, or remote (must reside in Oregon or Washington with Oregon licensure).

All regulations stipulated by the Oregon MED/Developmentally Delayed programs apply to this individual.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • Participate in team meetings as determined by the leadership team.
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations/assessments.
  • Provide medication assessment, prescription monitoring, and management services to include consumer awareness of the benefits and side effects of medications prescribed.
  • Meet with case managers and therapists to review cases and validate diagnosis and treatment programs.
  • Complete and submit required documentation of services provided in accordance with applicable standards, center policies and procedures, and Mental Health Division rules and regulations within time limits.
  • Provide psychiatric testing and analysis of results to assist in the determination of DSM-5 diagnosis and the development of appropriate treatment programs for consumers.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as mutually agreed with the Medical Director and/or the Executive Director.
  • Other duties may be assigned to respond to community and client needs.

Education and/or Experience

  • Licensed as a Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Oregon.
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
