The Role at a Glance
The Agency Training Coordinator oversees the design, development, delivery, and support of the Medical Management of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Events (PER-211) and the Medical Preparedness & Response for Bombing Incidents (MGT-348) courses. This role serves as the primary point of contact to coordinate training schedules and deliveries, works with points of contact at host agencies, approves instructor travel, and markets and sells training and technical assistance for this program. This position is responsible for modifying and/or updating curriculum content, including online learning when necessary. As a Lead Instructor, the Agency Training Coordinator provides training for the EMS/PH Program.
This position is funded through the Homeland Security National Training Program Cooperative Agreement. The Agency Training Coordinator conducts course topic presentations, including demonstrations with course teaching aids. The Agency Training Coordinator utilizes knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to present to varied audiences (Public Safety, Public Health, Health Care, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management, and federal, state, and local disaster support personnel) and maximizes learner success to ensure effective course instruction. This position may allow telecommuting; in that case, the Training Coordinator must be capable of conducting course marketing, course coordination, and travel coordination with full-time and wage staff from a remote telework site.
This position reports to the Agency Training Manager.
Qualifications of the Role
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Two years of related experience in project coordination, curriculum development, and/or delivery of adult training.
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Current passport or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire.
Active certification or licensure as a paramedic, nurse or other higher level advanced medical provider.
Equivalency: Will consider an associate’s degree and four years of experience in project coordination, curriculum development, and/or delivery of adult training or a high school diploma or GED with six years of experience in project coordination, curriculum development, and/or delivery of adult training.
