Job Title: Content Specialist, Nursing

Location: Remote (US- based)


Primary Purpose

The Content Specialist, Nursing is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the nursing and health professions’ content is current, accurate, and meets student needs.
  • Developing client relationships, anticipating resource and training needs, and staying current on discipline and industry standards.
  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on nursing and health professions projects.


Essential Functions

  • Author and review Nursing questions, including NCLEX, NGN, and adaptive question types.
  • Directs and ensures subject matter accuracy to standards on assigned projects
  • Reviews materials from freelancers and provides feedback to manage the quality of work when needed.
  • Works with Sourcing to identify and recruit SMEs across nursing and health profession disciplines.
  • Qualifies and selects freelance SMEs, IDs, and relevant vendors for projects based on content expertise, skill, credentials, and availability.
  • Develops, administers, and evaluates assessments and training materials, and conducts live and recorded training as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains direct communication with the client for problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Participates in status and development meetings with clients.
  • Maintains direct communication with VP, Content Services, Higher Education, Director of Learning Design, Higher Education, and Content Development Managers, to provide consistent direction, leadership, and support.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • MSN, MEd, MSN Nursing Education, or a master’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Nursing experience (at least 3 years) and active certifications preferred.
  • Teaching experience in accredited nursing programs (ACEN or CCNE) preferred.
  • Online teaching experience is a plus.
  • Professional Instructional Design experience for accredited nursing curriculum development, assessment writing.
  • Professional nursing educational content development experience.
  • Professional Project Management experience.
  • Relationship management skills with teams, clients, and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, self-directed, and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality, results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Applications, modern business, communication, mobile, and presentation tools.
  • Programs for virtual teams, i.e., JoinMe, Google Hangout, Zoom, and/or Skype.
  • Educational technology expertise is a plus.
  • Design experience with AI tools is a plus.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • The work environment is primarily indoors at home, a client office, or other professional settings with minimal to moderate noise and no exposure to environmental elements.
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach, and use hands to operate computers and other office equipment.
  • LearningMate has global customers and offices in India, Africa, Canada, UK and USA. Coordination with the teams demands regular early morning and occasionally late evening calls/meetings.
  • Occasional travel (~5%) to client sites or relevant conferences may be required.
