About the Role:
As an intern, you will play a vital role in shaping company strategy for an early-stage startup by supporting research initiatives to inform our clinical outcomes roadmap. This research will be used to inform products and services development to further Oula’s mission as an evidence-based and innovative maternity care provider. This is a remote role, or has the option to be hybrid in Brooklyn, NY. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research, data synthesis, and analysis while contributing to meaningful projects that will shape Oula’s strategy. You will be working directly with the senior leadership team of our fast-paced, early-stage startup. The primary deliverables of this internship are to research and synthesize:
- Best-in-class clinical outcomes for maternity care
- Evidence-based levers (people, process, technology) that drive improvement in maternity care clinical outcomes
- Recommend prioritized roadmap of services, products and projects
- Share learnings and opportunities from adjacent or similar care models
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive literature searches using academic databases and other relevant sources.
- Summarize and synthesize research findings from peer-reviewed articles, books, and other scholarly materials.
- Collaborate with team members to identify key themes, gaps, and trends in the literature.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing research findings and insights.
- Present findings to startup leadership to shape clinical strategy.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a MPH other relevant degree
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and synthesize information effectively.
- Proficiency in using academic databases (e.g., PubMed, JSTOR, Google Scholar) and reference management tools (e.g., Zotero, EndNote).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Salary Range
$20-25/hour for an estimated 50 hours total over the course of the project.

Exact compensation inclusive of salary and any bonuses is determined based on a number of factors including experience and skill level, location, and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process.
