This job will report to our Omaha, NE office with a remote option for candidates with Referral Management Coordination experience who live in Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Referral Management Coordinator at Live On Nebraska, you’ll play a critical role in the early stages of the organ donation process. This position ensures the timely and accurate evaluation of potential organ donor referrals, all while working remotely. By collaborating with hospital staff and interdisciplinary teams, you’ll gather essential information, evaluate donor suitability, and help maximize donation opportunities. Your efforts will directly contribute to saving and enhancing lives, aligning with our mission to give the most precious gift of all—life.

As a key part of our Referral Services team, you will:

  • Receive & Screen Referrals: Conduct initial phone screenings in collaboration with hospital staff, collecting essential information for potential organ donor cases.
  • Donor Assessment: Review electronic medical records (EMR) and collaborate with the on-site organ team to evaluate donor suitability and optimize donation opportunities.
  • Data Management: Build and maintain donor charts, ensuring all data collected through EMR and phone interactions is accurately entered into the internal system.
  • Collaboration: Partner with hospital staff and interdisciplinary team members to support the organ donation process from referral to authorization.
  • Documentation: Complete all records in compliance with regulatory standards, working closely with the Quality Department to ensure accuracy.
  • Team Engagement: Actively participate in departmental meetings, training, and quality assurance initiatives.
What skills & experience you’ll bring to us:
  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, or Paramedic/EMT
  • Current experience working in a critical care or emergency care setting required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification.
  • Familiarity with EMR usage (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, internal EMR systems)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and stressful environment.
Schedule:
  • 12-Hour Shifts: Required to work 12-hour shifts, both day and night, on a rotating 2 month schedule that includes three to four shifts per week, followed by three to four days off.
  • Overnight: Requires regular work during evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Weekend Availability: Must be available to work on weekends either regularly or as needed based on business demands.
The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is not applicable for geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Live On Nebraska, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $27.74 – $34.69 per hour.
