The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Associate Director, Agios Clinical Educator to join our growing Market Access team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Associate Director, Agios Clinical Educator is a unique leadership opportunity, providing day-to-day oversight of 5-6 Clinical Nurse Educators who interact directly with patients and healthcare professionals. This individual will oversee all day-to-day activities. The manager for the CNEs will create a supportive environment focused on meeting key performance indicators. They will also foster a culture that promotes coaching and development of the team, as well as handle recruiting, interviewing and hiring for open territories.

 

What you will do:

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the Clinical Nurse Educators. 
  • Develop and implement regional engagement strategy for the CNE team to deliver education, offer support, and foster connections within the thalassemia and PK deficiency communities and among healthcare professionals.
  • Drive key performance metrics related to team priorities. Develop key performance metrics related to team priorities. 
  • Enhance team performance by concentrating on actions and outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings, providing valuable patient insights to enhance strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams to support the oneAgios patient-centric business model.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop CNEs in the region for future roles.
  • Conduct field observations monthly, develop coaching reports, and facilitate career development.
  • Conduct performance reviews, assign merit increases, and implement performance improvement plans for CNEs.
  • Foster a patient-centric culture of high performance, accountability, collaboration, compliance, and fun.
  • Oversee documentation in appropriate CRM tools.
  • Manage regional operational budgets, provide expense report guidance, and ensure expense policies are being followed.

 

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years management experience leading a team of Clinical Nurse Educators, Patient Education Liaison or similar teams with patient facing role.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is not required but preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience in patient services preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and inspire a team.
  • Desire to innovate and work in a fast-paced, flexible and energetic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills to guide others internally/externally.
  • Ability to communicate and execute on assigned goals.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional listening, critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations and handle sensitive issues with opposing opinions.
  • Highly passionate and enthusiastic about Agios core competencies.
  • The position may require ability to travel within the United States up to 50% or more.
  • Experience in hematology, oncology or rare disease.
  • Proficiency in additional languages preferred (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Arabic, Vietnamese)

Work Location:

Location Specific – Field/Remote: This is a remote based field position. Employees in field roles must reside within their designated territory. Regular conversations with manager are encouraged to ensure alignment on in-person presence/expectations. Travel may be required commensurate to the above job description and/or to attend team meetings and other company events.

    • The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between $153,541 and $230,312 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
