Position Position Overview:

The Clinical Compliance and Documentation Specialist (RN) is responsible for ensuring Tellihealth’s healthcare practices comply with regulatory standards by accurately interpreting and completing clinical documentation. This role involves conducting audits, advising and collaborating with stakeholders, and working closely with General Counsel and the Chief Strategy & Compliance Officer to ensure compliance and documentation integrity.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of clinical delivery strategies, ensuring that quality care is delivered efficiently and in compliance with medical standards.
  • Perform clinical quality control reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal protocols.
  • Leverage clinical background and experience in healthcare settings to support documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Implement effective clinical documentation processes and workflows that align with best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing review of clinical documentation workflows and compliance policies, ensuring they remain current with changing regulatory landscapes.
  • Work with operational teams to ensure smooth implementation of strategy across various functions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key liaison across departments, fostering communication and alignment on strategy execution across all business units
  • Collaborate with practices, offices, and health systems to standardize documentation practices and maintain quality across diverse clinical environments.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Investigate potential compliance violations and take necessary corrective actions under the supervision of General Counsel and the Chief Strategy & Compliance Officer.
  • Assist in audits, violations, and corrective actions as a result of audits for future reference and evaluation.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are trained on the company’s workflows & policies, and any periodic updates to laws and regulations affecting the organization.
  • Assist Compliance Officer in identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks to measure the effectiveness of compliance initiatives.
  • Assist in compliance and regulatory functions to ensure that TelliHealth adheres to all federal, state, and industry regulations, including healthcare-specific laws and standards.
  • Work closely with the legal team to mitigate risk while ensuring favorable terms for the organization.


Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license, required.
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program, required.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience, required.
  • Experience in a compliance or documentation role, preferred.
  • Legal documentation experience, preferred.
  • Understanding of clinical quality control.
  • Understanding of clinical documentation and its workflow.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, medical terminology, coding guidelines, and clinical documentation workflows.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
