POSITION SUMMARY

Clinical Education Specialist will collaborate with leadership and other educators across the system to

develop, coordinate, and implement evidence-based education and Professional Development

Programs to promote safe and effective customer/patient-centered care. Responsibilities will be

primarily focused on one of the following areas: Cardiology/Critical Care, Neurologic/Orthopedic Care,

Labor & Delivery/Mother-Baby/Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical/Oncology, Medical/Surgical/PCU,

Emergency/Trauma Care, Surgical/Perioperative Care, and Residency Programs as assigned based on

business needs.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Lead education initiatives for large-scale implementations and practice changes.
  • Oversee Evidence-Based Practice updates for our nursing care delivery model as Subject

Matter Experts.

  • Manage multiple education projects including EHR enhancements and clinical projects.
  • Serve as consultants for leaders regarding clinical practice, clinical products and care delivery
  • Prepare reports as needed to reflect associate training.
  • Develop, support, and advise education plans for areas outside of nursing.
  • Ensure competencies reflect best practice and are compliant with organizational policy and

procedures.

  • Analyze and disseminate current medical and nursing literature for utilization in the expansion

and improvement of patient care outcomes.

  • Function as a Change Agent and Leader to support change.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Lean and practices in Lean projects.
  • Evaluate organizational effectiveness in education and integrate innovative, creative

perspectives into the educator role.

  • Perform learning needs assessments by using a variety of strategies and tools to facilitate

practice and process changes in area of expertise.

Work Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • Work Experience: Three (3) years of clinical experience in specialty area.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida.
  • Certification:
  • Board certification in clinical specialty area within two (2) years of start date.
  • Any one of the following prior to start date and maintained:

▪ American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)

Healthcare Provider Completion Card.

▪ American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA PALS)

Healthcare Provider Completion Card.

▪ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

▪ Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).

  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Use of MS Office and other systems and platforms related to role.
  • Oral, auditory, and written skills; facilitate in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Problem Solve issues and challenges that may surface to achieve desired outcome.
  • Prioritize and plan work and projects to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work Experience: Five (5) years of clinical education experience in specialty area.
  • Certification: Board certification in clinical specialty.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing,
  • May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including

tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.

  • May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to

90% of the assigned shift.

  • May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality,

lighting, and/or low to loud noise.

  • May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following

OSHA and CDC guidelines.

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite or remote.
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle
