About the job

Essential Functions

  • Conduct online courses adhering to established guidelines and technologies.
  • Provide detailed feedback on assignments and offer additional assistance to students struggling with course content.
  • Ensure a minimum 70% student success rate across all classes taught within the program.
  • Maintain accurate student grades following policy guidelines, and prepare/report final grades at the end of each sequence to update student records and transcripts.
  • Actively contribute to retention efforts by contacting disengaged students via phone, email, or text, and document outreach efforts in the faculty portal.
  • Direct students with inquiries about financial aid, transcripts, or other matters to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in required professional development and in-service activities.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate with Program Directors or Student Services Coordinators to address academic concerns.
  • Stay informed about professional trends and advancements in educational technology.

Mental Tasks: Communicate, read, comprehend, and perform functions based on written/oral instructions or observations.

Physical Tasks: Sort, separate, and file documents/forms; write; hear within normal range.

Methods, Techniques, Procedures: Review relevant documents, forms, and reports.

Equipment, Aids, Tools, Materials: Utilize office equipment such as telephone, copier, printer, and computer.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, professional degree (e.g., JD, MD), or baccalaureate degree with professional certification from a recognized national accrediting agency.
  • Graduation from an accredited program acknowledged by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the CHEA in the specialty field or subject area taught.
  • Three years of teaching experience in the subject field or three years of occupational experience in the field (or a closely related field).
  • At least 15 semester credit hours (or equivalent) in the subject area.
  • Current license, certification, or credentials as required by local/state/federal regulations for the field, except for non-core courses.
  • Preferred experience with course management systems (e.g., Blackboard) and online instruction.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, video-conferencing tools, and other relevant applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
