We are seeking a motivated Health Informatics Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and data analytics. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to work directly with patients collecting and analyzing data on the efficacy of cutting edge behavioral health treatments. You’ll have hands-on experience in data collection, management, quality improvement, and research. Responsibilities
- Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting
- Collecting structured behavioral health assessments with patients
- Assisting patients in completing rating scales
- Assist in analyzing healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
- Create reports and visualizations using tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
- Support quality improvement initiatives through data collection and analysis
- Help maintain data integrity and accuracy in health information systems
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Support
- Assist with EHR optimization projects and workflow improvements
- Support documentation audits and compliance initiatives
- Participate in system testing and validation activities
- Process Improvement
- Map current healthcare workflows and identify areas for enhancement
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures for health information processes
- Support implementation of new technologies and system upgrades
- Document best practices and lessons learned
- Research & Analytics
- Conduct literature reviews
- Assist with clinical research projects requiring data extraction and analysis
- Support population health initiatives through data mining and analysis
- Help prepare tables, figures, presentations and reports for stakeholders and for peer-reviewed publication
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Assist with HIPAA compliance monitoring and documentation
- Support data governance initiatives
- Help with health information audits and assessments
- Participate in quality assurance activities for data accuracy
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program related to Behavioral Health (e.g. clinical psychology, social work, nursing etc) or recently graduated from a bachelor’s degree program
- Preferred majors: Pre-med, Psychology, Health Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Biostatistics, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Previous experience with medical terminology, healthcare settings, or research preferred but not required
- Clinical experience (volunteering, shadowing, medical assistant work) is a plus
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic database management
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software systems
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus

- Hours: 10-20 hours per week including Saturday’s
- Duration: Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
- Schedule: Flexible hours with some core business hour requirements
