Overview

At TLC Management, our mission is grounded in compassionate care, accountability, and doing what’s right—every time. As a multi‑state senior care organization, we are committed to supporting our communities with strong clinical practices, ethical leadership, and thoughtful decision‑making.

We are seeking a Legal Nurse (Registered Nurse) to join our legal team in a full‑time, remote capacity, with a preferred location in Indiana or Florida. This role provides an opportunity for an experienced RN to apply clinical insight beyond traditional patient care by supporting legal case review and analysis for our long‑term care facilities.

This position is ideal for a nurse who values accuracy, collaboration, and using their voice to ensure clear understanding of healthcare standards and outcomes—while supporting meaningful, integrity‑driven work across the TLC organization.

Responsibilities

As a Legal Nurse, your duties will include providing clinical insight and expertise to support attorneys in the evaluation, preparation, and management of healthcare‑related legal cases.

  • Organize, index, and manage electronic medical records to ensure accurate and efficient case review.
  • Review, summarize, and analyze pertinent medical records, including radiology reports and billing statements.
  • Develop clear and detailed medical chronologies as requested by attorneys.
  • Conduct medical and scientific literature research related to case matters, including medical conditions at issue, applicable standards of care, professional guidelines, and practice regulations, and prepare summaries relevant to case allegations.
  • Identify, research, and coordinate with medical expert witnesses as needed.
  • Prepare and provide medical records and supporting materials to medical experts and participate in expert conferences.
  • Collaborate with attorneys in preparation for depositions, arbitrations, trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Must hold an active, unrestricted RN license in Indiana, Florida, and Ohio, or be licensed through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in long‑term care, acute care, case management, or risk management preferred.
  • Prior experience in legal nurse consulting, utilization review, healthcare compliance, or related legal/clinical roles strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, standards of care, and healthcare regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex medical records and communicate findings clearly and concisely in written summaries.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to travel if needed.
