The University of Rio Grande’s Clinical Nurse Specialist Program is seeking qualified Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialists to join our faculty pool for online instruction. This position involves teaching responsibilities in an online classroom environment and providing clinical supervision for graduate-level students.

Candidates must possess the necessary academic credentials and practical experience required for the adjunct faculty role. Experience in clinical settings, leadership, and mentoring is preferred.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The adjunct faculty member will plan, organize, and teach clinical online courses while providing feedback to promote student success. Quick and responsive communication with students and academic departments using university-provided tools is essential.

Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural responsiveness, and overall excellence of our academic community.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist certification
  • Current unencumbered Ohio Board licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Certification as an Adult-Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Ohio Board Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in nursing
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level, either online or in person
  • Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and networking skills
