Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the development and implementation of clinical policies, guidelines, procedures, strategies, and services for Advanced Practice Providers across the Enterprise.

  • Serve as a strategic advanced practice provider leader to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s mission, goals, and strategic plans for both inpatient and outpatient care in conjunction with Nursing.

  • Help develop and maintain an advanced practice provider leadership structure to facilitate consistent advanced practice provider support and oversight.

  • Foster continuous process improvement while using a methodical process to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies, processes, and programs to integrate new knowledge and optimize new and emerging clinical practice models.

  • Oversee standardizing advanced practice provider clinical guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure patient care delivery that is safe, cost-effective, and within the advanced practice provider scope of practice while adhering to state and organizational requirements.

  • Recommend resource allocation guidelines for maintenance of advanced practice provider education and professional development, including academic degree advancement.

  • Evaluate and recommend guidelines for advanced practice provider performance evaluation, competency assessment, and performance improvement planning in collaboration with medical leadership to ensure consistent expectations across provider groups.


Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Nurse Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
    • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Education appropriate for licensure held: Master’s degree of Nursing or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program.

WOrk Experience:

  • 5 years of experience required.
  • 10 years of experience preferred.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred


Additional Preferences

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) preferred
