We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner (BHNP) to provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for patients with mental health conditions. The BHNP will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic and patient-centered care, helping individuals improve their mental health and overall well-being.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status exams.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia using DSM5 criteria.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacologic and therapeutic interventions.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitor for side effects, and adjust dosages as needed.
  • Provide supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and brief psychotherapy as appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and continuing education sessions.
  • Promote patient safety and adherence to ethical and legal standards of psychiatric care.
  • Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of practice.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNPBC) by the ANCC.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral/mental health settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative care team.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Experience in integrated behavioral health, substance use treatment, or crisis intervention.
  • Familiarity with evidencebased treatment models (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing).
  • Comfort working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Telehealth or remote care experience is a plus.
