Job Responsibility

  • Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations
  • Review patient’s medical diagnosis, prognosis, medications, procedures, and clinical course
  • Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients
  • Performs daily patient rounds
  • Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests
  • Interprets laboratory and test results
  • Confers with physicians, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care
  • Provides health education and counseling
  • Must be willing to work independently and be responsible for your own caseload

Requirements

  • Graduate degree from an accredited nursing school, such as a Master of Science in nursing or Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program
  • State license
  • BLS certification
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of practice.
  • 2-4 years of clinical work experience
  • Must be compassionate and personable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other medical staff.
  • Strong leadership skills, self-confidence, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional active listening skills
