This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands-on experience. As an Occupational Health Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with implementation of site-wide health and wellness initiatives (health screenings, educational campaigns).
- Contributing to planning efforts for Global Health and Safety Days.
- Collecting data and analyzing trends on workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Supporting nurses with clinical operations (supply inventory, equipment logs, etc.).
- Researching and reporting on corporate medical surveillance programs.
- Assisting with the Mental Health First Aiders Program.
This position may suit you best if you are familiar with the areas and concepts below, and would like to develop your skills within Healthineers:
- A general understanding of health promotion and preventative care strategies.
- A general understanding of laboratory operations in a research and development setting (lab safety, use of chemicals, use of biological material, etc.).
- Previous projects involving research, data analysis, and reporting on topics related to life sciences, healthcare, wellness, etc.
- A general understanding of the basic clinical operations.
Required skills and education to have for the success of this role:
- Active enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences, Occupational Safety, etc.).
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred).
- Interest in occupational health, workplace safety, or corporate clinical care.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a foreign degree- or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States OR Has graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to his or her exchange visitor program start date.
