POSITION SUMMARY
Primary role is to provide quality review of application for nurse practitioner certification.
Serves as the primary resource to educational programs including faculty and program leaders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Serves as a contact and resource for educational programs including faculty, leaders, and students.
· Review, approve, edit, deny, release, query and audit certification applications.
· Lead quality assurance and improvement activities.
· Develop educational materials and provide educational opportunities.
· Assist with policy and standard operating procedure development.
· Support accreditation efforts.
· Proactively reach out to faculty and programs leaders on initiatives.
· Regularly update educational program information.
· Monitor accreditation status of educational programs.
· Assist with review of internal and published certification materials.
· Investigate issues and trends identified with educational programs and candidates and provide recommendations.
· Monitor neglected applications and on hold applications.
· Be available as a resource to staff regarding NP education and practice.
· Maintain a working knowledge of professional nursing educational qualifications and expectations for applicants.
· Provide regular reports to leadership.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of NP licensure, accreditation, certification, and education issues.
• Excellent organizational skills, professional demeanor, and initiative.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptability during peak high-volume times or the absence of other staff.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, and ability to perform work on the AANPCB database.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Certified Nurse Practitioner with either a master’s or doctoral degree
