Job Description:
The Nurse Educator will be an expert in industry education standards supporting and guiding caregivers in self-improvement and self-development. The Nurse Educator will assess, guide, support, coordinate, and evaluate caregivers? orientation and ongoing learning needs in alignment with their associated program, service or care group. Under the direction of the Education Manager will be a resource, consultant, and mentor to caregivers and clinical coaches in their assigned area fostering self-reliance and building a social team.
The RN Educator may be asked to travel to various locations to perform their work duties.
In small or rural facilities this position functions as the facility educator with other duties as assigned.

Position Scope:
This is a full-time, facility-based role reporting directly to the local Education Manager, with dotted-line accountability to clinical leaders based on assigned specialty areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborative Learning Strategy: Partner with clinical teams to assess learning needs, align with organizational goals, and ensure evidence-based practices are adopted across care areas.
- Orientation & Ongoing Education: Deliver high-quality orientation for new caregivers and support continuous learning for existing staff using standardized tools and resources.
- Learning Implementation: Execute education initiatives including new skill development, equipment transitions, and just-in-time training as directed by the Education Manager.
- Needs Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct learning needs assessments, communicate findings, and evaluate outcomes to inform future education strategies.
- Competency Development: Support caregivers in progressing from novice to expert, and ensure clinical competency through coaching, mentoring, and structured learning opportunities.
- Simulation & Skills Training: Facilitate simulation-based learning and organize skills days or pass-off sessions to reinforce clinical excellence.
- Regulatory Readiness: Support compliance efforts and preparation for audits and surveys (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
- Unit Engagement: Maintain a visible presence across all shifts and units, fostering relationships and recognizing caregiver contributions.
- Professional Collaboration: Participate in Shared Leadership Teams and maintain regular communication with Nurse Educators across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Unit-specific certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) as required or obtained within designated timeframe
- BSN required within 3 years of hire or promotion
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the relevant specialty
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively across all levels
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated teaching, facilitation, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, Instructional Design, or related field
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development
- Experience with learning technologies and systems (e.g., LMS, e-learning tools)
- Background in strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$44.42 – $65.70
