Position Summary

The Full-Time Nursing Faculty member is responsible for delivering high-quality education and supporting student success in the RN-BSN program. This role includes teaching online theory courses, serving as the Clinical Liaison for Public Health (PH) and Leadership precepted clinical experiences, and fostering strong relationships with clinical partners. The faculty member will ensure compliance with Board of Nursing (BRN) standards and institutional policies while promoting excellence in nursing education.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Curriculum Delivery

Teach assigned online theory courses in the RN-BSN curriculum.

Develop and maintain engaging, evidence-based course content aligned with program outcomes.

Utilize innovative teaching strategies to support diverse adult learners.

  • Clinical Liaison Duties

Coordinate Public Health and Leadership precepted clinical placements in collaboration with adjunct faculty.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical sites and preceptors.

Ensure clinical experiences meet program objectives and regulatory requirements.

Monitor clinical sites for appropriateness.

Review and approve clinical preceptor documentation and evaluations.

  • Student Success & Advising

Provide academic support and mentorship to RN-BSN students.

Identify at-risk students and implement success strategies.

Maintain regular communication and feedback to promote retention and completion.

  • Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to accreditation standards.

Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Professional Engagement

Attend faculty meetings, committees, and professional development activities.

Contribute to scholarly and service activities that advance nursing education.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in nursing required; Doctorate in Nursing or related preferred.

  • Licensure: Current, unencumbered California RN license; Public Health Certification required.

    Experience: 

    • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in nursing education (online preferred).   Clinical experience in Public Health and/or Leadership roles.

Familiarity with adult learning principles and online learning platforms.

  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills; ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and clinical partners.

 Work Environment

  • Full-time, primarily remote with occasional travel to clinical sites and campuses as needed.
