Salary: $87,000/year – Shift: M-F 8a-5p; Fully Remote

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Full-time Utilization Management (UM) Registered Nurse (RN) Bed Manager to join our Regional Team in Springfield, Illinois.

The Bed Manager is responsible for facilitating identification of appropriate infirmary housing for patients being discharged from outside hospitals or RMCH or for transfers from other private facility prison infirmaries. This role facilitates communication between sending and receiving facility to ensure receiving facility is prepared to accept the patient, communication between facility and regional/state leadership to ensure staffing, equipment and medications required are available to safely accept the patient, and communication with the sending facility to coordinate transfer dates with security and arrange special medical transportation if needed. The Bed Manager also initiates infirmary transfers utilizing the email system and medical services transfer form. Additional duties may include participation in hospital discharge calls as needed to identify current and future potential patients requiring hospital placement and monitoring the electronic infirmary census to ensure accurate and timely updates are completed.

  • Licensed RN with an active license to practice in Illinois
  • Previous experience performing utilization review in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a managed care setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Minimum of one year of work experience as an RN in a community outpatient clinic, hospital or long-term care facility preferred
  • Experience with InterQual preferred
  • Corrections experience preferred
  • Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
